Día De Tango 2006

On 11 december 2006, for a third consequtive year TanguerIN Studio will celebrate The Day of Tango. The event will take place in the Sofia Hall of INTERPRED on 36 Dragan Tzankov Blvd, and will include the following:

7.00 p.m. - CONCERT
Tango music performed by Sofia Quartet:
Anguel Stankov (violin)
Nikolai Gagov (violin)
Valentin Guerov (viola)
Geoffrey Dean (cello).
The programme will include famous tangos by C.Gardel, A.Piazzolla, J.Padilla, I.Albeniz, J.Gade, M.Pekov and others.


8.00 p.m. - TANGO BALL
During the ball all tango lovers will be able to dance to the music of the famous argenine tango orchestras from the Golden Age (the 40s) to the present day.
Wines from VINMPROM ROUSSE will be served throughout the ball.

9.00 p.m. - DANCE PERFORMANCES
Presentation of the argentine tango clubs and schools in Sofia - TanguerIN Studio, Laokoon Tango, SofiaTango.

Tickets for the event are sold through the network of Bilet Express Eventim.bg or online at www.eventim.bg.
The price of the tickets is 10 lv.

The dress code is formal.

MORE ABOUT SOFIA QUARTET

Sofia Quartet quickly asserted itself as a leading chamber formation, winning the respect of the audience. Its cycles Viennese Classics, Do You Love Bramhs?, Beethoven's Quartets, became widely popular and the quartet has been invited to many prestigeous musical events, such as the New Year's Musical festival at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, the Internateional Chamber Music Festival in Plovdiv and many others. Many of its perfromance have been broadcasted on the National TV. The quartet has performed world premieres of pieces by Mihail Pekov and Dimitris Temelis. A great recognition of its activities and high musical achievements was the award in 2004 of the highest musical prize in Bulgaria - the Crystal Lyre Award of the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers. Sofia Quartet will honour the Day of Tango performing famous tangos by composers from over the world, which promises to be an exciting trip in the history of tango music.
